Having been a mum for ten years, and a foodie ever since I can remember, I know how hard it can be to find great food that works for the whole family. These days we expect perfection, and want delicious, local, Instagram-ready goodness at prices that don’t break the bank. I want to share my passion for finding good food where I live, on the borders of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I’ve found some of it in restaurants, and learned to make the rest for my family at home.

All my recommendations come from my own experiences, and I’m certainly still looking for more! If you have a great little place you think I should know about, I would love to hear from you.

Local Feasting: celebrating food together

Local Restaurants

In Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire we are blessed with a significant amount of restaurant choice. I love trying new restaurants, whether it be a big chain or a local eatery. The important thing is not the brand, but the memories that are made when a community or a family comes together.

Does a particular food conjure up a memory for you? I know Eggs Benedict and a glass of fizz remind me of the day my husband asked me to marry him!

Local Produce In Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire

There are so many great local producers that people are just not aware of in the area. It could be a great farm shop that you drive by everyday or a local product that is made just around the corner.

If you are a producer with a product you are proud of please get in touch so I can include you in these pages — use #LocalFeasting.

Eating In

Eating in is what we do the majority of the time. For most of us, it’s something we do every day, and sometimes it can feel like a chore.

Thinking about meal planning, shopping, likes and dislikes, nutritional values and all those other things we consider before we cook every day takes up a lot of time and energy.

I want to take the mundane out of the everyday – sharing great meal planning techniques that can make eating in easy, and just as fun as eating out.

Nutrition and healthy eating

We know everyone talks about it a lot. Even when you do your weekly shopping online, healthy alternatives are suggested. Nutrition and healthy eating is really important, but it shouldn’t be a chore to think about it. It should just fit in naturally to the way we live our lives.

I’ll be sharing the latest advice on nutrition, as well as my own tips and tricks for how I keep my family healthy and happy.

Eating in and eating out

I really want to pass my love of food to my children by involving them in everyday cooking at home and trying new things when we are out. We love going to local farmers’ markets and farm shops and learning about how food is made.
